Strength & Conditioning for Pregnancy, Volume I is a fitness program for the pregnant athlete. This book is for those who have experience training either on their own or in a class setting. This book is for those athletes who wish to train smart using innate, functional movement, and implement safe and effective modifications.
The programming in this book is set up so that there are four training days a week. The programming is very similar to the way we train and run classes in Los Angeles. We start with a warm up, then a deep stretch and/or activations of certain muscle groups, followed by a skill and intentional strength training. Next is a metabolic conditioning portion that is always varied. We finish with accessory movements for a bit of bonus work that is easier on the central nervous system as compared to heavy lifting or long conditioning. The core is always included.
Every workout includes links to demonstration videos for all movements.
