This little pale green leaf is produced by the raspberry plant and societies have used it for centuries for a variety of ailments. The Greeks and the Romans used it for the flu and gum disease, to settle an upset stomach, and alleviate menstrual cramps.
As I’ve said before, a lot of problems and complications in pregnancy can be traced to the mother’s diet prior to pregnancy and during pregnancy. This is because the woman is missing significant nutrients. Her body is deprived of the nutrients that it needs to flourish.
Herbal tonics such as a red raspberry leaf tonic have been used forever to help mothers experience a healthier pregnancy. This particular herb is rich in Vitamin C, A, and E, calcium and iron, manganese and magnesium, Vitamin B complex, and minerals. It will improve uterine tone and associated muscles in the pelvic region.
In women in the past, it has been used to ease morning sickness, prevent miscarriage, and decrease pain during labor and after birth. It can definitely be used for other things such as a cold, sore throat, and regulating one’s menstrual cycle.
One cup of tea won’t do the job. This herbal tonic needs to be taken a few times a week. I would say anywhere from 3-5 days a week for it to have an affect. I’m a big believer in supplementing with food and natural substances before even taking an advil. So, pregnant or not, try this tea out.
