What the heck is a new moon?

In the last few days, I’ve heard people mention the occurrence of the new moon more than once. I’m not one that keeps up with the sun, moon, and stars, however, I do respect the positioning of the universe and the energy within in it. Hearing about the occurrence of the new moon more than once intrigued me, so I set out to see what life was trying to tell me or be present to. New Moon: The phase of the moon that which is in conjunction with the sun and invisible to the earth {Wikipedia}.

The new moon session is a great time to create, develop, and cultivate something new. Setting an intention and committing to the process is very powerful during a new moon. Someone once told me to think of the new moon as a blank sheet of paper in which you can envision anything.

People have different traditions/rituals leading up to on the new moon. I interpret the time prior to the new moon as an appropriate time to step back and reflect on life. Then, on the day of moon set the intention or create space in your life for whatever it is you want.

It’s pretty ironically awesome that DEUCE Gym just opened. This is our home a mile away from home. Our intention at this school of fitness is to help you be the best damn version of you.
