With football season coming to a close, I cannot help but think about how much our country participates in the festivities of football. From college football to professional football, from tailgates to midnight yells, communities join together to cheer loud and make memories at stadiums all across the country.
For the past couple of years, I have not supported a professional football team, but mark my words, wherever Johnny Football goes my heart will follow. Anyways, as I watched in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the spirit of the Seattle Seahawks.
To me, this looked like a young, hungry team that knew exactly what they wanted. Not only was this team driven but there were three former Texas Aggies on the Seahawks. With guys like Christine Michael, Red Bryant, and Michael Bennet in conjunction with the support of the 12th Man how could you not love the Seahawks? [MAKING OF A CHAMPION VIDEO]
The secret weapon that the Seahawks and my alma mater, The University of Texas A&M, share is the 12th Man. Don’t know about the 12th Man?

There’s a spirit that can never be explained without experiencing it. Everyone involved shares this spirit and it is the difference between a Champion and an average person.
A champion is not just a team or someone that is undefeated. A champion is:
• Self-sufficient and self-motivated.
• Resilient and determined.
• Displays inner peace.
• Always asks questions.
• The best version of herself/himself.
• Understands that some things are out of your control.
• Channels their gifts.
• Listen to their dreams.
• Surrounds themselves with other champions.
• Faith in something bigger than themselves.
I know this site is dedicated to pregnancy and birth. However, I want you to just dream a minute and think about how motivated you would be if you had the 12th Man with you every step of the way during pregnancy and birth. Think about how supported you would feel. Think about the fact that your pregnancy is part of a greater, beautiful picture.
Incorporate the qualities of a champion in your pregnancy. Be the champion of your birth and don’t forget the 12th Man, aka BirthFIT, has your back!
